Mabel is a Jindo mix rescue we adopted in January from the Golden Valley Humane Society. Her mom was rescued from the Korean meat trade and Mabel was born in a shelter. A rescue agency sent her and 11 other puppies to Minnesota where they were offered for adoption. Sheri happened to be at the Humane Society the day Mabel was on the floor, but she had an “Awaiting Adoption” tag on her cage. Thankfully Sheri was standing close by when the tag was pulled and swooped in to make her claim. We visited with her that night and quickly determined she was a keeper.
Mabel and our other dog, Evelyn, are best of friends and always together, so it will be interesting to see how they do while apart. They are constantly playing in the yard, and no bird escapes their attention. Mabel is a savvy escape artist and we have had to supplement the yard’s fencing, but somehow, they both always find themselves in Sheri’s gardens.

Ron is originally from New York but calls Minnesota home after 18 years of living in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. He has worked in Corporate Payables his entire time in Minnesota and is retired from the US Air Force Reserves. Ron held many different positions while in the Reserves and deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Fun is spending time with Sheri and watching his three boys participate in sporting events. Hiking, camping, and following the New York Yankees and Liverpool Football Club takes up the rest of his time.
